Policy Statement

To engage, inform, educate, and communicate with our customers and the communities we serve, NT Power uses several social media sites. This includes but is not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube (“social media platforms”). NT Power is dedicated to transparency and openness with all our stakeholders.

 

Purpose

The policy will provide an outline of the operation, maintenance, and moderation of all NT Power social media pages to maintain a safe, respectful space free from misinformation where all stakeholders are encouraged to engage with us.

Your access to, use of, and engagement with any of our social media accounts constitute acceptance of the terms in this Policy. You may also be bound by other terms and conditions imposed by the parties who own and operate the Social Media Platforms.

 

Scope

The Social Media Platform Use and Moderation Policy applies to anyone interacting, posting, or otherwise engaging with NT Power on internet assets within the control of NT Power.

 

Procedures

Moderation, Commenting, Posting

NT Power expects that all conversations and comments will remain within the boundaries of respectful interpersonal interactions and reserves the right to remove content and commentary at any time, for any reason, and without notice. This includes:

  • Any commentary, content, or images that are illegal, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or containing language deemed to be inflammatory.
  • Any content or information that is discriminatory, hateful, or that negatively portrays any community (e.g., ethnic group, nationality, gender, occupation). 
  • Any content that is unsolicited or irrelevant to NT Power.
  • Any content deemed to violate these terms of engagement.
  • Comments or content that is inaccurate, deceptive, or intended to spread misinformation.
  • Negative comments that are relevant to NT Power operations and do not violate the parameters established above will not be removed.
  • NT Power’s social media accounts are monitored during our regular hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm EST, excluding statutory holidays, and we will make our best effort to respond to comments and questions that are relevant and appropriate.

Personal Information

NT Power’s pages on social media are publicly accessible and we ask that our customers avoid posting any personal or account information. NT Power representatives will not disclose or discuss private information on public forums and comments or posts containing this type of information will be removed for the protection of the individual who published the post/comment. NT Power team members who notice information of this nature posted publicly should report it to Corporate Communications for removal.

Use & Distribution

By posting content on NT Power’s social media platforms, you grant us the free and unlimited right to use and distribute content for all practical purposes.

NT Power Employee Personal Social Media Use

Some NT Power employees post to various social media platforms under their names or pseudonyms. Despite their professional affiliation with NT Power, their posts do not represent our official position and should be considered the product of the individual as a private citizen.

Similarly, the appearance of a user as a follower of any NT Power account on social media does not imply endorsement of any kind from NT Power.

Policy Modifications

We reserve the right to amend these terms in this Policy at any time or shut down any of our accounts on Social Media Platforms without notice.
