NT Power announces a significant leadership transition within the organization.

After four years as NT Power’s President & CEO, Ysni Semsedini has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer with London Hydro, commencing August 6, 2024.

Ysni Semsedini, NT Power President & CEO, said: “I am very grateful to have had the last four years here at NT Power working alongside a team of people who are dedicated and care deeply about each other and the communities they serve. The decision to accept the role at London Hydro was not taken lightly but will allow me to continue to grow in my career and bring me and my family back home. I am confident that the team we have built at NT Power will continue to provide a high level of service to the people and communities we serve. I’m also grateful for the support I received from NT Power’s Board of Directors and Shareholders. You’ve been a great support for me personally and for NT Power’s vision of being a leader in providing energy choice. I’ll continue to root for the success of this organization and all of you.”

Dave Charleson, Board Chair of NT Power, said: “We are grateful for the significant contributions that Ysni has made to NT Power during his time as CEO. He provided exemplary leadership to NT Power and has built a solid, skilled, and capable team. We are confident that the outstanding executive team that Ysni has built will steer NT Power seamlessly through this transition period."

To ensure continuity in leadership and maintain the exemplary customer service standards that NT Power is known for, the Board of Directors has appointed Stuart Smith as its interim CEO. Stuart has dedicated his 20-year career to the electricity distribution industry. He joined NT Power four years ago and serves as our Chief Information Officer, ensuring the reliability, privacy, and security of our critical information and technology infrastructure. In addition to being a key member of the executive team, Stuart oversees our risk management activities. While recruitment for a new CEO is taking place, Stuart will work alongside Ysni during his transition.

NT Power remains committed to delivering the highest standards of service and operational efficiency to our community. We value the ongoing support and understanding of our stakeholders during this period of change.
